Man Injured in Alleged Antisemitic Attack in Berlin-Schöneberg

A 60-year-old man was physically assaulted in Berlin-Schöneberg on Saturday evening in what police suspect was an antisemitic attack.

A violent incident occurred on Saturday evening in Berlin-Schöneberg, where a 60-year-old man sustained injuries during an alleged antisemitic attack. According to police reports released on Sunday, the victim suffered facial hematomas and a laceration. Additionally, his glasses and coat were damaged during the assault.

The attack reportedly followed a verbal altercation initiated by an unidentified individual, who asked the victim whether he was Jewish. Upon confirmation, the assailant allegedly made antisemitic remarks before physically attacking the man. The victim was struck with a fist, causing him to fall to the ground, where the attacker continued to hit him.

The assault ended when a witness alerted the police, prompting the attacker to flee the scene. The Berlin police’s state security division is now investigating the case on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm with an antisemitic motive. Authorities have not yet identified the perpetrator, and further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
