Ukraine Vows Retaliation After Deadly Russian Strikes on Kyiv

President Zelenskyy pledges justice following devastating Russian airstrikes on Kyiv, killing over 20 civilians.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has vowed retaliation after Russian airstrikes targeted Kyiv, resulting in over 20 civilian deaths and nearly 90 injuries. Speaking at one of the attack sites, Zelenskyy stated, ‘We are for a just peace, a just end to the war, and until that happens, for just responses.’

The strikes, described as the most severe assault on Kyiv since the war began, involved approximately 500 drones and 70 missiles, according to Ukrainian officials. Residential buildings were destroyed, and rescue teams continue to search for victims. Other regions, including Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia, also suffered attacks, with casualties reported, including the death of a seven-year-old girl. Russia’s defense ministry claimed the strikes were a response to alleged Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure.
