German Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder has announced his intention to resign due to a ‘humiliating state’ that hinders necessary work.

Schnieder stated he will ask Chancellor Friedrich Merz to propose his dismissal to the President, following a failed personnel reshuffle.

Despite Merz indicating further cabinet changes, Schnieder emphasized the urgent need for decisive leadership, particularly regarding critical decisions for Deutsche Bahn.
