Tino Chrupalla Re-elected as AfD Co-Chair with 70.05% Vote
Tino Chrupalla has been confirmed as the leader of the Alternative for Germany party during their federal convention in Erfurt.
Chrupalla received 70.05% of the votes, a decrease from his previous re-election of 82.7%. The party is also set to confirm co-chair Alice Weidel and elect additional board members over the weekend.
Tensions are high as thousands of counter-demonstrators, including up to 2,500 violent left-wing extremists, are expected to protest the event, prompting police preparations for potential clashes.
