Police Seek Witnesses to Multiple Incidents in Reutlingen and Surrounding Areas

Authorities in Reutlingen are urgently seeking witnesses to a violent altercation involving several individuals, alongside investigations into other local incidents.

Police in Reutlingen are urgently appealing for witnesses following a violent altercation that occurred on Monday afternoon in the city center. The incident, which took place on Eberhardstraße at approximately 2:45 PM, involved several young men aged between 18 and 25. Initial investigations suggest that the confrontation stemmed from ongoing disputes and escalated with the use of pepper spray, a brass knuckle, and possibly knives. Three individuals sustained injuries, some requiring medical attention. Upon police arrival, several participants fled the scene, prompting a search operation involving multiple patrol vehicles. Two knives and a canister of pepper spray were confiscated, and investigations into the exact sequence of events and those involved are ongoing.

In a separate incident on Thursday morning, a 25-year-old man exhibiting signs of psychological distress caused a disturbance at Willy-Brandt-Platz near the Tübinger Tor in Reutlingen. Police were alerted at 9:15 AM after reports of the man harassing passersby and spitting on the ground. Witnesses also noted the visible grip of a weapon in his pocket. Officers confronted the individual, who refused to comply with instructions to surrender the weapon. He was subsequently subdued and handcuffed. The weapon was later identified as a toy pistol, which was confiscated. The man was taken to a specialized clinic for further care and faces charges related to the incident.

Additionally, a traffic accident in Eningen on Tuesday morning left a 71-year-old pedestrian injured. The incident occurred shortly before 9:00 AM on Arbachtalstraße when a 58-year-old driver exiting a property failed to notice the pedestrian crossing the road. The man was struck and fell onto the roadway, requiring transport to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, in Albstadt, police are investigating acts of vandalism at schools on Hohenzollernstraße, where unknown individuals damaged windows by throwing stones. Authorities are exploring connections between this and similar previously reported incidents. Witnesses with information are urged to contact local police stations.
