Flood Disaster Traps Hundreds in Nepal’s Hydropower Tunnels
Rescue efforts intensify in Nepal as hundreds of workers remain trapped in hydropower tunnels following a devastating flood.
The flood, triggered by a glacier collapse, has claimed over 950 lives, with 639 workers believed to be trapped in tunnels across eleven hydropower plants in Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts.
Rescue teams, supported by experts from China and India, are battling challenging conditions to reach the trapped individuals, while nearly 5,000 people remain missing and the Red Cross estimates over 90,000 affected.
