Germany’s coalition leaders will reveal the results of critical talks on tax reforms and economic measures on Thursday morning.

After nearly eight hours of discussions, the coalition committee meeting at the German Chancellery concluded late Wednesday evening. Participants began leaving the premises around 10:30 PM. According to coalition sources, the leaders of the CDU, CSU, and SPD will hold a press conference on Thursday at 9:00 AM in the Chancellery garden to disclose the outcomes.

The meeting was seen as a pivotal moment, focusing on income tax reforms, labor market flexibility, and reducing bureaucracy to boost the economy. Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) expressed optimism earlier in the day, anticipating a ‘major leap forward.’ However, disagreements over the proposed reforms persisted within the coalition ahead of the meeting.
