The BR Volleys defeated VC Olympia Berlin 3-0 in a Volleyball Bundesliga match on Saturday evening, maintaining their position as second in the league table.

The BR Volleys, reigning German volleyball champions, achieved their fourth consecutive victory in the Volleyball Bundesliga on Saturday evening. Competing at the Sportforum Hohenschönhausen in Berlin, they faced the junior selection team VC Olympia Berlin and secured a 3-0 win with set scores of 25:21, 25:17, and 25:19. This victory solidifies their position as second in the league standings.

Head coach Andrea Anastasi made significant changes to the lineup compared to their previous match against Mitteldeutschland, opting to rest key players such as Eric Shoji, Nolan Flexen, and Alexandru Rata. The team fielded a B-squad, which initially struggled with reception issues and fell behind in the first set, trailing 11:14 at one point. However, a strategic timeout and a subsequent 4:1 scoring run allowed the Volleys to recover and claim the first set.

The second set saw a more composed performance from the BR Volleys, who dominated and left no room for VC Olympia to mount a challenge. The junior team showed resilience in the third set, keeping the scoreline tight until midway through. A decisive scoring run by the Volleys ultimately secured the set and the match. Ryan Barnett and Tom Koops emerged as the top scorers for Berlin, contributing 15 and 13 points respectively.
