Rostock Seawolves Extend Winning Streak with Victory Over Ulm

The Rostock Seawolves secured their fourth consecutive home victory in the Basketball Bundesliga, defeating Ratiopharm Ulm 97-87 in a thrilling match in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The Rostock Seawolves continued their impressive run in the Basketball Bundesliga with a 97-87 victory over Ratiopharm Ulm on their home court in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This marks their fourth consecutive home win this season, further solidifying their dominance at home. The match, held in Rostock, showcased the team’s resilience as they overcame a late surge by Ulm to secure the win.

The Seawolves, coached by Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz, entered the game riding high after a recent triumph over FC Bayern Munich and their first EuroCup away victory in Burgos. Despite initial struggles to find their rhythm, Rostock gained control of the game, leading 29-21 after the first quarter. Artur Konontsuk’s dunk extended their lead to 50-36, marking the largest margin in the first half. Bent Leuchten’s layup early in the third quarter pushed the score to 68-47, seemingly putting the Seawolves on a clear path to victory.

However, Ulm mounted a strong comeback with a 14-0 run in the third quarter, narrowing the gap significantly. Dominic Lockhart broke Ulm’s momentum with a crucial three-pointer, and Armel Traore’s long-distance shot brought the score to 76-77, making the final minutes tense. Despite the pressure, the Seawolves maintained their composure, with Zach Copeland sealing the game with a decisive three-pointer for an 89-78 lead just over two minutes before the final buzzer. The victory capped off an exceptional week for Rostock, marking their third win in seven days.
