Police Launch Public Search After Violent Attack in Mannheim
Authorities in Mannheim are conducting a public search for suspects involved in a violent attack on members of the group ‘Shaping Germany Together’ (GDG) in late August.
Police in Mannheim have initiated a public search, including the release of photographs, for suspects linked to a violent incident that occurred at the end of August. Approximately 40 masked individuals attacked members of the group ‘Shaping Germany Together’ (GDG) using batons and pepper spray. The attack took place in Mannheim and is being investigated as a case of serious breach of the peace.
According to police reports, the attackers were associated with left-wing extremist circles and had divided themselves into two groups of roughly equal size before ambushing the GDG members. The GDG group, consisting of 25 individuals, suffered multiple injuries during the assault. One member sustained a head laceration and a fractured arm, while others experienced bruises, eye irritation, and skin reactions due to the use of pepper spray. The perpetrators fled the scene and remain unidentified.
The GDG, which advocates for what it describes as ‘positive patriotism,’ has condemned the attack. Authorities are urging the public to assist in identifying the suspects by reviewing the released photographs. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward.
