Mobile Home in Lauenbrück Engulfed in Flames: Three Injured, Challenging Firefighting Conditions
A mobile home in Lauenbrück was completely destroyed by fire on Tuesday evening, leaving three people injured and posing significant challenges for firefighters due to the remote location.
On Tuesday evening at approximately 5:30 PM, emergency services were alerted to a fire in a mobile home park located in the municipality of Lauenbrück, part of the Fintel collective municipality. The initial report indicated a ‘fire following an explosion,’ prompting the dispatch of multiple fire brigades under the F4 alarm category. Upon arrival, firefighters found the mobile home fully engulfed in flames, with parts of its exterior walls scattered several meters away. While the possibility of an explosion was initially reported, fire officials have not yet confirmed this detail.
Three individuals, including the resident of the affected mobile home, sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals with suspected smoke inhalation. Emergency medical services were present with five ambulances and two emergency physician vehicles. Firefighters successfully prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring mobile homes, although one adjacent vehicle and another mobile home sustained minor damage, including a shattered window caused by intense heat.
The remote location of the mobile home park, situated in a forested area outside the village, posed significant challenges for firefighting efforts. A comprehensive water supply system had to be established over a long distance, requiring extensive use of hoses and additional personnel. Approximately 100 firefighters from various local brigades were involved in the operation, which demanded substantial technical and logistical resources. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no further details regarding the reported explosion are available at this time.
