International Crackdown on Abuse Networks: 156 Victims and Suspects Identified
Authorities in nine countries dismantled online networks where men drugged, abused, and shared footage of their partners.
Europol coordinated a major operation targeting online abuse networks, identifying 156 victims and suspects across nine countries. The networks involved men who drugged and sexually assaulted their partners, later sharing videos of the crimes online.
The investigation, dubbed ‘Project Medusa,’ led to 57 arrests and the rescue of 158 victims since its launch in April. Authorities uncovered disturbing exchanges in misogynistic forums, where perpetrators shared tips on drug procurement and abuse methods. German and British agencies spearheaded the operation, with Europol confirming the dismantling of four major networks.
