Updated Asylum Handbook Released in Greek
Updated Asylum Handbook Released in Greek
The handbook serves as a practical reference for lawyers, judges, prosecutors, immigration officials, border guards, NGOs, and other professionals who may encounter legal questions relating to asylum, borders, and immigration.
Jointly published by the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), the fourth edition of the handbook has been updated to June 2026. It brings together key EU legislation and case law from the Court of Justice of the European Union and the ECtHR, reflecting significant developments since the previous edition in 2020, including the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum.
The 2026 edition also includes a new chapter on monitoring fundamental rights compliance and investigating rights violations.
It presents EU law and Council of Europe standards, including ECtHR case law, allowing readers to identify where the two European legal systems converge and where they diverge.
The updated handbook is now available in Greek and English, with additional language versions forthcoming.
