Military Aircraft Makes Emergency Stop in Seychelles During Training Mission

A German military aircraft made an unscheduled landing in the Seychelles due to technical issues during a training flight. Officials confirmed no government officials were on board, and the crew remains safe.

A German Air Force Bombardier Global 5000 aircraft, typically used for government transport, has been stationed in the Seychelles for several days following an unexpected technical issue. The plane was en route from Egypt to Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean as part of a training mission when it was forced to make an emergency landing.

According to the German Defense Ministry, the aircraft was conducting routine training exercises designed to prepare crews for operations in challenging conditions, including flying over uncontrolled airspace and navigating equatorial climates. The ministry confirmed that only the crew was on board at the time of the incident and that all members are in good health. Efforts to resolve the technical problem are currently underway.

The presence of the aircraft in the popular tourist destination sparked speculation after a photo of the jet was shared online by a German politician vacationing in the Seychelles. However, officials clarified that the landing was unrelated to any government travel and was solely due to the technical issue encountered during the training mission.
