Convicted Fraudster Orchestrates Airport Purchase from Prison

Hendrik Holt, a notorious fraudster serving an eight-year sentence, has been linked to the purchase of Rostock-Laage Airport through intermediaries, raising questions about the legitimacy of the transaction.

Rostock-Laage Airport, which has struggled with low passenger numbers, was sold last year to Crisp Partners, a Berlin-based investment group. The airport, originally designed to handle one million passengers annually, saw only about 37,000 travelers in 2025, prompting hopes for revitalization under new ownership.

Recent investigations have uncovered that Hendrik Holt, a convicted wind farm fraudster, was behind the airport’s acquisition, orchestrating the deal from prison. Documents reveal that the airport was purchased for 3.1 million euros, with Holt allegedly using intermediaries to facilitate the transaction while serving his sentence for extensive fraud.

Holt, who was arrested in 2020 for selling non-existent wind farms to foreign energy companies, has a history of criminal activity that includes forgery and financial deception. His involvement in the airport deal raises concerns about the future of the facility and the integrity of its new management, as they plan to expand operations and develop renewable energy projects.
