Federal Authorities Confirm No Further Threat Following CSD Attack in Berlin

Following a suspected Islamist terrorist attack during the Christopher Street Day (CSD) event in Berlin, Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has taken over the investigation into the attack, which resulted in the death of the suspect, identified as Abdul B., during a police operation. Dobrindt emphasized that while another individual is under consideration, no further threats have been substantiated. In response to the incident, the Brandenburg Gate was illuminated in rainbow colors as a symbol of solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, and a memorial vigil was held in Frankfurt am Main to honor the victims.
