Green Party Reforms: Membership Changes Quorum Rules

The Green Party has enacted significant reforms to streamline decision-making amid rapid membership growth.

New rules require 0.05% of members, or 91 supporters, to submit proposals at party conventions, down from a previous threshold of 50 members. This change was approved by over 64,000 members.

Additionally, local assemblies can no longer submit proposals directly and must first gain majority support at regional meetings. The party aims for increased structure and effectiveness, moving away from grassroots democracy.
