The US National Archives has made the NSDAP membership records publicly accessible, sparking significant interest in Germany regarding familial ties to the Nazi Party.

Since March, the NSDAP membership records have been available online, raising questions about the ongoing struggle with Germany’s Nazi past despite decades of historical reflection.

The release has prompted a surge in inquiries, revealing that many families remain unaware of their relatives’ affiliations with the Nazi Party, highlighting a gap in personal historical understanding.
