Authorities have detained two German teenagers linked to the far-right terror group ‘Last Defense Wave’ following a failed arson attack on an asylum seeker shelter.

The suspects, aged 16 and 17, were arrested in Thuringia after allegedly attempting to set fire to a shelter in Schmölln in January 2025, using fireworks to ignite the building.

The group aims to destabilize Germany’s democratic system through violence against migrants and political opponents, with previous arrests made in connection to similar activities.
