Brandenburg Establishes New Task Force to Combat Livestock Theft
Brandenburg’s Interior Minister Redmann announced enhanced nighttime inspections and collaboration with Polish authorities to address livestock thefts in the region.
During a visit to an affected agricultural operation in Herzberg, Minister Redmann revealed that a new investigative unit has been formed to tackle the rising incidents of cattle theft, which have seen 233 cattle stolen since March, resulting in an estimated total loss of €337,000. The police will increase surveillance efforts, particularly during the night and early morning hours, and will coordinate with Polish police to monitor livestock transport across the border.
