Record Investment in Battery Storage Achieved in Germany
The German Solar Industry Association reports a record high in investments in battery storage during the first quarter of the year.
Over two gigawatt-hours of new storage capacity were commissioned, representing an increase of approximately 67% compared to the same period last year. Consequently, the total battery storage capacity in Germany has risen to about 28 gigawatt-hours, distributed across approximately 2.5 million systems. This capacity is sufficient to store the average daily electricity consumption of around three million households in Germany, according to data from the Federal Network Agency.
